The USS Vega was a Federation Rigel-class heavy scout starship in Starfleet service in the 24th century, active in the 2370s. This vessel was named for the star Vega. (Last Unicorn RPG module: The Price of Freedom)

The Vega inherited its name from an earlier Starfleet vessel, a Constitution-class USS Vega in service in the 23rd century. These vessels were eventually succeeded in bearing the name Vega by the later 2370s, when the USS Vega repair ship was in service.
