The name Venra was given to the ship in honor of a star trek games reviewer's sister, who was killed in a car accident shortly before the series launched. Her surviving brother and sister, Victor and Katherine, asked Activision if they could name a ship in Armada II after their deceased sibling. ^[citation needed]
