The USS Wakefield was a Federation starship. She was a Daedalus-class explorer in service to Starfleet in the 22nd century.

In 2166, the Wakefield, under the command of John Petrashune, and her sister ship Lindbergh engaged a fleet of Orion pirate ships at the Battle of Delta Doradus. The Wakefield was destroyed by the Orions. (Decipher RPG module: Starfleet Operations Manual)

The Wakefield was probably named after the town of Wakefield, England.
