The USS Warspite (NCC-74922) was a Federation Sovereign-class starship in Starfleet service in the late 24th century. It was named after a series of English and British naval craft that bore the name from the sixteenth century onwards. Its captain in 2385 was Steven Unverzagt, a promising and zealous young captain.

History[]

The Warspite was ordered in September directly by President Ishan Anjar to arrest the rogue Doctor Julian Bashir. Bashir, who had been classed as a traitor, was attempting to find refugee status on Andor and deliver a cure to the Andorian reproductive crisis made from the top secret and highly dangeorous Shedai Meta-genome. The ship caught up with Bashir in orbit of Andor, where the Warspite would shoot down a civilian transport carrying Bashir, engage in a conflict with Andorian Imperial Guard vessels, perform an electronic warfare act against Andor (Operation Bright Storm), combat the USS Aventine to capture Bashir and land special forces teams on Andor's South Pole. The result of this was the successful capture of Bashir. (ST - The Fall novel: A Ceremony of Losses)

In 2401, the Warspite was part of a group of Federation Starships that took part in the Frontier Day celebrations. Along with the rest of the fleet, she was commandeered by officers under the age of 25 that have fallen under the influence of the Borg Collective. The situation was resolved when the USS Enterprise-D destroyed a massive Borg Cube within the gasses of Jupiter. (PIC Episodes Võx and The Last Generation)
