The USS Yorktown II (registry NCC-1717 or NCC-1704) was a Constitution-class cruiser starship commissioned on stardate 2/17. This Yorktown was constructed to the specifications of an Enterprise-subclass vessel, specifically as a rear-fire heavy cruiser. In 2286, the Yorktown was under the command of Captain Joel Randolph. The Cetacean Probe disabled the Yorktown and the chief engineer was trying to deploy a makeshift solar sail to help move the vessel. (TOS movie: Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home)
