The USS Yorktown was a Daedalus-class Earth Starfleet starship in service during the Earth-Romulan War.

History[]

In late 2155, the Yorktown was under the command of Captain Ketai Shosetsu, and engaged in battle with Romulan ships near the planet Valakis. She suffered heavy damage and casualties.

On November 27, 2155, the Yorktown left the Proxima Maintenance Yards after undergoing repair and refit. During the overhaul a number of new crewmembers were assigned to the ship including Ensign Travis Mayweather.

On March 10, 2156, the Yorktown and the Challenger (NX-03) was visiting Andoria when the Romulans attacked the system. The Earth ships quickly offered their help, and took part in the battle. Yorktown was responsible for disabling several Yravas-class fighters, but wasn't fast enough to assist the Challenger near the planet.

After the battle, the Yorktown underwent repairs at the Zeta 2 Reticuli repair and shore-leave facility, where Mayweather left the crew. (ENT novel: Beneath the Raptor's Wing)

During the war, the Yorktown led a task force into Romulan space and encountered an automated repair station of Ware origin. Remembering Jonathan Archer's reports from years earlier regarding the crew kidnapping, Captain Shosetsu didn't allow his ships to dock. Instead he decided to destroy the station; unfortunately, because of the war, he couldn't attempt a rescue of possible survivors. (ENT novel: Uncertain Logic)
