Background[]

The preceding Zodiac-class USS Yorktown was in service at least until 2373 (per TNG - Section 31 novel: Rogue), putting the naming of the succeeding Yorktown sometime after this date. The Decipher RPG editors took some liberty creating this vessel registry number, as canon producers preferred for 2370s starships to have registry numbers beginning with the digit 7.
