The USS al-Burak was a Federation starship in Starfleet service in the 23rd century.

At some point before 2273, Lieutenant Dorwinian aided in installing a new computer system aboard the al-Burak. (TOS short story: "Night Whispers")

In 2276, al-Burak was one of over a half-dozen Starfleet vessels, under the command of Commodore Jono Danilov, that intervened in a Romulan conflict that Captain James T. Kirk's USS Enterprise had become involved in, the Battle of Augo. Al-Burak, along with Kilimanjaro, Speedwell, Hemalat, Lake Ponchartrain, Lake Onondoga, San Diego, Dauntless and Marathon all departed shortly after the engagement, with the only loss being Danilov's Ortisei. (TOS novel: The Empty Chair)
