Ulysses S. Grant (Born Hiram Ulysses Grant, lived 1822 to 1885) was a human who lived on Earth during the 19th century. Grant served as the eighteenth President of the United States as well as United States General-in-Chief during the American Civil War and post-war Reconstruction. Under Grant's command, the Union Army defeated the Confederate States Army.

As president, he was alerted by Aaron Stemple to the existance of alien species with nefarious plans. He was seen by history as responsible for repeling the attempted Karsid Empire take over of Earth. (TOS novel: Ishmael)
