Umeen orWenda was a male Payav of the nation-state of Larenda, on planet Mestiko. A scientist and politician, he was a senior member of the Larendan Convocation's Atmospheric and Astronomic Council at the time of "The Pulse". He was a long-time advocate for satellite technology and space exploration, stances which often put him at odds with Servant Raya elMora, although the two still maintained mutual respect and friendship for one another.
Umeen was one of the select few who knew of the threat posed by a rogue pulsar to his planet, prior to its becoming common knowledge to the rest of the population on Mestiko. (TOS - Mere Anarchy eBook: Things Fall Apart)
