Uranium is a chemical element.

Uranium was amongst the substances found by the Horta on the Bajoran moon The Prodigal in 2370. (DS9 novel: Devil in the Sky)

Uranium was also found on Torgu-Va by the Tarn and Human forces. The Tarn was able to use uranium to create an atomic bomb. The humans did not have the atomic bomb yet, but they planned to spread uranium over the Tarn cities using a P-51 Mustang. (TNG novel: The Forgotten War)
