Therin of Andor, aka Ian McLean, had an awareness of "Star Trek" through the 60s and 70s (including episodes of TAS in b/w) but only became a diehard fan with the release of Star Trek: The Motion Picture in December 1979. He lives in Sydney, Australia. Ian joined active fandom in 1980 and became president of a large, local Australian fan club, ASTREX, until the early 90s. He wrote a long-running column, "Have Phaser, Will Travel", published fanzines, created fanfilms, and has MCed many SF media conventions. Therin Park is named for him. These days, Ian does most of his trekking online. Therin of Andor 21:44, December 27, 2011 (UTC)
