In the mirror universe, Vash was an archeologist-for-hire who was partnered with Jean-Luc Picard.

Also a member of the Terran Rebellion, she enlisted Picard's aid in her and Noonien Soong's search for the Borg in 2371. After gaining Picard's aid she left to conduct a mission for the Rebellion only to run into the Borg herself and be assimilated.

Picard later discovered her on a Borg ship and he killed her an act he decided was probably a mercy. (TNG novel: The Worst of Both Worlds)
