Vasteras University is an educational institution located on Earth.

In 2369, Commander Benjamin Sisko halfheartedly applied for an astrionics professorship there a week before being posted to space station Deep Space 9. Sisko was expecting his application to be rejected, however the University was excited over the opportunity to recruit a Starfleet officer with Sisko's experience to join their faculty and offered him a position.

After his experience with the Prophets helped him face the grief he felt over losing his wife Jennifer, Sisko decided to remain in Starfleet and in command of Deep Space Nine. After speaking to his son Jake Sisko ultimately decided to turn down the position. (DS9 novelization: Emissary)

The location of the university was not provided in the novel, but there is a Vasteras University currently operating in the nation of Sweden.
