The Vega was a Federation passenger starliner starship in the 23rd century, active in the 2270s. This vessel was named for the star Vega.
In 2276, on a journey out of Sigma Pavonis IV, Vega was attacked by the Romulan ship Avenger. Vega was then escorted into Romulan space. Leonard McCoy was a passenger at that time. (TOS novel: The Romulan Way)
