Vela 3AG was a star system in the Gum Nebula, an area of space in the galaxy's Beta Quadrant visible from Sol in the constellations of Vela and Puppis. This system at one point had a number of planets, fourth being a body which had ten moons. When the Federation starship USS Titan entered the system, all that could be found were some outer planetoids and a spatial anomaly. (TNG novel: Q & A)
