Vendor was a star system located in the space of the Vendor sector in the galaxy's Beta Quadrant, within the borders of the Romulan Star Empire.

History and specifics[]

This system possessed resources of parsteel and tritatium, and was located at coordinates -4209, 112. (ST video game: Fleet Command)

It was a binary star system. (ST references: Star Trek Maps, Star Charts)

The two sources differ on stellar classification. Star Trek Maps states that the primary star is an O or B class star, and that the system has a brightness of absolute magnitude −3. Star Charts, however, states that the primary star is an F class white star and adds an M class red secondary, with a brightness of magnitude +5.

This system was home to three planets. (ST reference: Star Trek Maps)

The second planet, also known as Vendor, was homeworld to the Vendorian civilization. (ST references: Star Trek Maps, Star Charts, ST video game: Star Trek Online)

As the Vendorians were deemed by the Federation to be still psychologically unfit for involvement in the interstellar community, due to their practice of deception and shapeshifting, Vendor was quarantined. Several treaties between the Federation and the Romulan Star Empire since 2161 also proscribed contact with this system. (TAS episode & Log Two novelization: The Survivor)

In 2366, cartographer Lsel Essik depicted Vendor in his star chart Position of the Romulan Star Empire. He designated Vendor as being with Romulan space. (ST reference: Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library)

Alternate realities[]

In the 23rd century of the Kelvin timeline, Vendor system was considered to be in Romulan space. At that time, notable nearby systems included Alpha Onias, Iapedes, Rator and Beta Paldorios. (ST video game: Fleet Command)

The system has an ID code of 1416011212 in the game software. The player character is likely to encounter a Romulan Imperial Fleet patrol here.
