Venus (Sol II) is the second planet in the Sol system. Due to the presence of large amounts of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, the surface temperature was over 700 degrees kelvin, with an extremely high atmospheric pressure.
By the 24th century, efforts were underway to terraform the planet. Several terraforming stations were established on the surface of Venus. (DS9 episodes: "Past Tense").
