Vhelis was a Klingon female who lived in the 22nd century.

History[]

After she was infected with the Qu'Vat virus, Vhelis was forced to live on the edges of the Klingon Empire. In 2163, she was working on the Klingon privateer ship Sud Qav as sensors officer under Captain Lokog. (ENT - Rise of the Federation novel: Tower of Babel)

In 2165, after Lokog refused to return to Klingon space to fight for the freedom of the QuchHa' in the wake of Chancellor M'Rek terminal illness and the ensuing turmoil, Vhelis used her position as the captain's lover to try to assassinate him and take over the ship.

One night as they were making love, Vhelis pulled out a garrote (which she had woven into one of her hair braids) and attempted to strangle Lokog. Lokog was able to escape her trap, and coming out victorious in the ensuing struggle he killed Vhelis.

After donning his armor Lokog realized that the rest of the crew might also have their own ideas about killing him and taking over. Lokog dragged the naked corpse of Vhelis by her hair onto the bridge as a warning to the others about turning against him before allowing the ship's Jeghpu'wI' servitor to place her body in the ship's recycling systems. (ENT - Rise of the Federation novel: Live by the Code)
