Victor Hugo (February 26, 1802May 22, 1885) was a Human writer from France who lived during the 19th century.

He wrote about social decay in Paris. (TNG novel: Survivors) One of his more popular works was entitled Les Misérables. (TNG - Mirror Universe novel: The Worst of Both Worlds)

Dax had once read The Hunchback of Notre Dame. However, Jadzia Dax disliked his work, finding it "melodramatic" with "two-dimensional" heroines. (DS9 episode: "For the Uniform")
