In the mirror universe, Victor Hugo was a Terran writer. One of his more popular works was entitled Les Misérables. After the Terran Republic was conquered by the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance, the Alliance banned many "decadent" forms of Terran art, including Hugo's work. At some point before 2371, Jean-Luc Picard managed to read a Romulan translation of Les Misérables. (TNG - Mirror Universe novel: The Worst of Both Worlds)

All indications suggest that the "mirror" version of Les Misérables is identical to our own.
