The Vigilant-class was a type of starship used by the Federation Starfleet in the 24th century. The Vigilant-class was a scout design that was a common sight on the Federation frontier in the 2370s, having been in service for some years before. (Last Unicorn RPG module: The Price of Freedom)

If it followed the example of numerous other Starfleet starship classes this class presumably included a prototype ship named USS Vigilant. However no such ship has been established.

The ST website: Ships of the Line details a new Vigilant-class starship entering service in 2386, this time functioning as a tactical escort. It is unknown whether or not the succession in name implies the Vigilant-class scout hd been taken out of service by that time.
