Vorian pterodactyls originate from the planet Voria III. Vorian pterodactyls can lift six times their own weight and require constant nutrition to maintain this strength. (ST module: Creatures)

In 2373, after being stranded on a L Class planet and having to drag a subspace transmitter to higher ground, Odo lamented that if he was still a Changeling, he could have transformed into a Vorian pterodactyl and lifted the transmitter to the top of a mountain. (DS9 episode: "The Ascent")
