The Voroth Sea was a body of water, an ocean[1] on the planet Vulcan, located in the galaxy's Beta Quadrant. (VOY episode: "Innocence")

History and specifics[]

T'Paal map

T'Paal, on the eastern shore of the Voroth Sea.

Among the lifeforms located in the Voroth Sea are a type of fish, similar to Earth whales, but not mammals. They are also noted for their size and bioluminescent hides. (TOS - Crucible novel: The Fire and the Rose)

Raal was a province on the shores of Voroth Sea. (VOY episode: "Innocence")

While Raal and the settlements it consisted of were situated on the western shores, the city of T'Paal lay on the east coast. Culturally, T'Paal imitated the welcoming attitude of Lake Yuron settlements to become more attractive to tourists. (ST reference: Hidden Universe Travel Guide: Vulcan)

In the 20th century, the Vulcan High Command operated the Voroth-class science vessel. (Last Unicorn RPG module: Star Trek: The Original Series Core Game Book)

On stardate 49578.2 in the year 2372, Tuvok recalled Raal and the Voroth Sea from his native Vulcan during a first contact mission with the Drayans at Drayan II. (VOY episode: "Innocence")

In the 2370s decade, the Federation starship USS Voroth Sea was named for this location. This Steamrunner-class vessel participated in the Dominion War from 2373 to 2375. (DS9 video game: Dominion Wars)
