The Vulcan Ministry of Defense was a division within the Vulcan government.
It was responsible for the defense of Vulcan though its role was not as crucial as it used to be before Vulcan joined the United Federation of Planets. Despite this being the case, it was still an important duty and one handled by the Minister of Defense who served as his worlds representative to Starfleet Command. This was achieved through subspace which linked the Ministries offices at ShirKahr to the cadre of Vulcan general staff at San Francisco and was one of the most heavily encrypted transmissions in the Federation.
The Minister of Defense also served as the command in chief of the Vulcan Defense Force and its ground counterpart the V'Ket both of which were part of the Ministry. (Last Unicorn RPG module: The Way of Kolinahr: The Vulcans)
