The WED Research Platform was a corporate space station positioned in geostationary orbit of Earth during the mid-21st century.

History and specifics[]

It had a staff module, a docking module, and a vehicle storage module. It had a crew of ten researchers and a number of New United Nations peacemakers.

In 2065, the researchers at the WED Research Platform developed a working inertial damper and equipped a reconfigured Orbital Fighter Escort with it. On 19 March, Adrik Thorsen led five Optimum Movement troopers in an attack on the platform. They detonated charges on the uplink dish and the staff module, disabling communications and killing seven researchers. They then broke into the docking module through the airlock and killed the remaining researchers. Thorsen used the fighter to destroy the platform, killing the rest of the crew and his own troopers.
