Wathiongo

Ensign Wathiongo was a male Starfleet engineer who served aboard the USS Enterprise-E. In 2379 he was part of the Piper team under the command of Lieutenant Commander Geordi La Forge which was sent to Tezwa's Mount Ranakar to destory the nadion-pulse cannon firebase located there. While parachuting in, the team was unable to see clearly through the fog and Wathiongo's parachute caught on the rockface of the mountain. He tumbled to the ground and landed roughly, suffering major internal injuries, a skull fracture, and a concussion; he later died from his injuries. (TNG novel: A Time to Kill)
