The Western Desert is a desert region in North Africa on Earth, stretching west from the Nile River. A secret bunker was constructed in the Western desert either during or shortly prior to the Eugenics Wars, which housed three DY-100 sleeper ships. In 2045, the bunker was rediscovered, along with two of the original three vessels. (TOS novel: Strangers from the Sky)
