William of Occam (circa 1288 to 1348) was a Human religious leader and philosopher. He was considered to be one of the major figures of medieval thought. Although commonly known for Occam's Razor, William also produced significant works on logic, physics, and theology.

In 2267, Spock quoted him as saying: "One must not multiply guesses without sufficient reasons." (TOS novelization: Space Seed)
