The X-Men were an organization in the 20th century of an alternate reality.

History and specifics[]

The members of the group were all members of homo sapiens superior, commonly known as mutants. They devoted their lives to learn to live with and use their special abilities while encouraging understand and co-existence between mutants and non-mutants. (TOS comic: "Star TreX", TNG comic: "Second Contact", TNG novel: Planet X)

Prime reality[]

X-Men, Issue 1.

In the prime reality, the X-Men were literary characters featured in X-Men comic books beginning in the year 1963. Cadet Matthew Decker had kept a copy of the comic's debut issue hermetically sealed, until Nog opened the bag and read it in their dorm at Starfleet Academy in 2372. The cover depicted Magneto battling various X-Men. (SA comic: "Liberty")
