Year of Kahless is a reference used in the Klingon calendar, which presumably counts the passage of time following the time of Kahless the Unforgettable. (DS9 episode: "Soldiers of the Empire")

The Klingon year is divided into months. These include with possible :

Klingon years (or turns) seem to be virtually identical in length to Earth years. Below are selected Years of Kahless and the corresponding dates on the Earth calendar.

Because no exact dates corresponding to these events are listed, an exact correlation can not be calculated. However, a one-to-one correspondence seems to hold over a span of 226 years, implying a difference in year lengths of no more than 1.6 days. Using this factor, the first Year of Kahless would extrapolate to be about 1375 C.E. on Earth, plus or minus 3 years. This would be approximately five centuries after Kahless is believed to have died.

An unfilmed or deleted scene from the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "You Are Cordially Invited" saw Jadzia Dax give the Year of Kahless 152 as the year of the marriage of Shenara, daughter of Emperor Reclaw of the Klingon Second Dynasty, to Keltar, son of Torva.
