Zaldan

Memory Beta, the wiki for licensed Star Trek content.

Emblem of the Zaldans.

The Zaldans were an agressive humanoid civilization from the planet Zalda (also known as Dolium V). The Zaldans are characterized by their webbed fingers, and their belief in total honesty, to the point that chivalry is considered insulting. (TNG episode: "Coming of Age").

The Zaldans believe themselves the only sane culture in a galaxy of liars, yet they were happy to join the United Federation of Planets. Many dislike them, but Zaldans play an important role in facilitating Federation trade with the Klingon Empire. (ST novel: A Singular Destiny).

Zaldans consider even the slightest falsehood unacceptable. Perhaps because of their deeply mandated opposition to deception, there is almost no crime in Zaldan society. [citation needed]

The species first achieved warp speeds in 2290. (ST roleplay module: All Our Yesterdays: The Time Travel Sourcebook)

In the 2370s and 2380s, the Zaldans were represented on the Federation Council by Molmaan. (ST novels: Articles of the Federation, A Singular Destiny)
