Zhavey

Zhavey was the familiar term for a Zhen parent of an Andorian child, it was the equivalent of a mother in a duel sexed species. Zhaveys were the individuals in the bondgroup who bore the child and as such was the closest biologically, and subsequently socially to the child. (DS9 novels: Avatar, Andor: Paradigm)
