Zintaba was a plant native to Betazed, the roots of which could be used to make a highly lethal poison. Primitive Betazoids used tarna thorns dipped in the zintaba toxin as projectiles for blowguns. The members of the Betazed resistance to the Dominion occupation of Betazed similarly came to rely on these low-tech weapons. (TNG novel: The Battle of Betazed)
