Norpin V was a planet located somewhere in the space of the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants, the fifth planet in orbit of the Norpin star system.

History and specifics[]

The world showed no evidence that it might have been strip-mined to provide raw resources for constructing the Jelonan Dyson Sphere. (Decipher RPG module: Worlds)

By the 23rd century, the Federation had established the Norpin colony on the planet, and it became known as an excellent place for those who wished to retire. (TNG episode & novelization: Relics)

In 2293, the transport USS Jenolan brought six new residents and supplies to Norpin V. Matt Franklin visited the colony and thought it was nice.

In 2294, Guinan overheard Franklin describe the colony to Montgomery Scott at a hotel bar. (TNG novel: Engines of Destiny)

Later that year, Montgomery Scott decided to retire to the colony, and departed aboard the USS Jenolen. FNS journalist Brad Foster broke the news on Terra Tonight that the USS Jenolan had gone missing while en route to Norpin V. (TNG episode & novelization: Relics; ST - Strange New Worlds 9 short story: "Terra Tonight")

Early in the 24th century, the retirement colony was destroyed by a catastrophic hurricane. (NF novels: Renaissance, Restoration)
