In 2364, Wesley Crusher and eleven other students from the USS Enterprise participated in a field trip to Quazulu VIII, during which they picked up a virus. The virus later became virulent after Wesley and a friend used a skiing holodeck program on the Enterprise and became ill. The virus soon spread to half then later all of the USS Enterprise crew, including Jean-Luc Picard. (TNG episode: "Angel One")
